The Annual Coordination Meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers was held on 27 September 2013 on the sidelines of the 68th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. In a statement at the meeting, the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, expressed the hope that the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity would guide the Muslim world to resolve its differences amicably. He thanked the brotherly Muslim countries for their continued support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for right to self-determination. The Adviser reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Palestine in their struggle for a separate state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. The Adviser while emphasizing the peaceful and tolerant nature of the religion of Islam urged stronger OIC commitment to address the propensity to defame religions.
The Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir also made a statement on behalf of the True Representative of the Kashmiri People. The Communiqué adopted at the meeting outlined OIC position on matters of interest to the Organization, including reaffirmation of OIC’s principled support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
