In order to befittingly celebrate, the National Day of Pakistan, Pakistan Consulate-General in Chengdu organized a Photo Exhibition at the premier Sichuan Library. Widely lauded as a fruitful effort to boost Pakistan’s ties with Sichuan, at a mass scale, the Exhibition will be held for a week at the Library beginning today.
At the inauguration ceremony of Exhibition Pakistan’s Consul General, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, underscored that: “We are extremely grateful to the Sichuan Government to offer us the excellent space, i.e., Sichuan Library to hold the Exhibition. It will go a long way in promoting Pakistan’s friendship with China and reinforce people-to-people ties. The Exhibition includes various photos depicting affinity between the leaderships of both countries; strength of Pakistan-China ties; as well as beauty and culture of Pakistan. In recent years, Pakistan’s ties with Sichuan province have strengthened and deepened greatly. One Belt One Road Initiative and the CPEC projects have injected a new vitality and energy into our relationship with the Southwest of China.”
The CG also underlined that, “Pakistan’s trade with Sichuan has gone up considerably. More students from Pakistan are studying at universities in Sichuan; more Pakistan Centres have opened in the region. Our co-operation in co-production of JF-17 Thunder has also entered a new and dynamic phase. Sichuan’s companies are investing in various projects in Pakistan. We are confident that our co-operation will grow further in the years ahead”.
Director General of Sichuan Library, He Guanglun, speaking at the occasion maintained that, “we are delighted to hold Pakistan Exhibition at our premises. Exhibition will provide a unique and incredible opportunity to the people of Sichuan to learn more about Pakistan. It will also be a step in the right direction to reinforce cultural and intellectual ties between two iron brothers. We are thankful to the Consul General for choosing our premises to hold the Exhibition”.
Pakistan Exhibition’s inauguration was attended by the Pakistan Air Force team based in Chengdu led by Air Commodore Farooq Zamir Afridi; members of Pakistani Mission; Chinese media; students and people from various walks of life.
At the conclusion of inauguration ceremony, DG He briefed the CG on the Sichuan Library and Sichuan’s history and gave Pakistan delegation a tour of the Library.
Sichuan Library, one of the most prestigious institutions of Sichuan, is a huge modern complex and is visited by seven thousand persons every day.
