(2017-04-13) The Government of Pakistan welcomes the designation of Malala Yousafzai as UN Messenger of Peace. It is a matter of pride and honour for Pakistan that Malala has received yet another distinction, being the youngest ever United Nations Messenger of Peace, with a special focus on girls’ education.
Malala is a brave daughter of Pakistan. For the world, she has become an icon of courage, determination, enlightenment, equality and education.
Malala’s voice against illiteracy and extremism is a source of strength and hope for children and girls across the world.
Pakistan’s Permanent Mission in New York has also hosted a reception to honour and acknowledge Malala’s efforts and achievements.
