In the auspicious presence of His Highness Sayyid Faris Fatik Al Said, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, HE Ali Javed, administered oath to Board of Directors of Pakistan Social Club (PSC), elections for which had been concluded recently.

The ceremony hosted at a local hotel last evening was attended by 200 guests, including those traveling from Buraimi, Sohar, Nizwa and Swaiq. Omani notables gracing the occasion included Mariam Zadjali, Chairperson Oman Society for Fine Arts, Sheikh Said Saqlawi, President Omani Society for Writers & Literati, Professor Muqaddam, Department of History SQU, Mahmood Balushi CEO Madina Logistics.

CEO Salam Air Captain Mohamed Ahmed and Professor Michael Jansen (Ph. D – Mohenjo Daro Studies, 1979) also witnessed the ceremony. Professor Jansen was conferred ‘Star of Distinction’ for services to Pakistan in 1987 whereas Salam Air operates 6 from a total of 66 weekly flights to Pakistan. Javed Chaudhry, Anchorperson from a private Pakistani TV Channel, currently visiting Oman to prepare a Special Report on Pak-Oman relations, also participated in the Event as a special guest.

Expressing his delight over the successful organization of the Event, His Highness praised the historical links between both nations and extended his reassurances to furthering them.

According a comprehensive briefing on depth & dimension of bilateral relations, the Ambassador felicitated Board of Directors as well as Mian Munir for his third consecutive election as Chairman and observed that Social Club had a vital responsibility to serving both nations.

Highlighting the soaring trajectory of exchanges between the two civil societies, the Ambassador underlined Embassy’s outreach initiatives including “WhatsApp Broadcast” and E-mail Bank amassing 25000 subscribers sand Youth Empowerment Strategy (YES). He said that WhatsApp for MRP, Labor and Immigration Wings were now being launched to serve the Pakistani community across Oman.

Unveiling ‘Action Plan 2018’ for PSC, the Ambassador acknowledged the services and contributions of 272,000 Pakistanis across the Sultanate, praised the visionary leadership of HM Sultan Qaboos and thanked the Omani nation for their hospitality.
