The Embassy of Pakistan, Prague celebrated Pakistan’s 78th National Day on 27th March 2018 at Hilton, Prague. Festivities included colorful programs to promote culture, traditions and values of Pakistan. The program was themed “Fusion” of Pakistan and Czech cultures through joint exhibition of Photographs (by Mr. Muhammad Saeed Rao, acknowledged by National Geographic from Pakistan) and Art work (by Ms. Alexandra Bryksa, renowned water colour artist, from the Czech Republic). Pakistani duo (Raja Kasheef and Ms. Rubayyat Jahan) and Czech musicians (Mr. Karel Vrtiska and Mr. Jakub Junek) presented a stunning performance on Piano and Violin.
Mr. Martin Tlapa, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and Mr. Vojtech Pikal, Vice President of the Chamber of the Deputies of the Czech Republic graced the occasion as Chief Guests.
Ambassador Dr. Israr Hussain while speaking to the occasion underscored importance of strides in bilateral relation between two countries, especially economic cooperation and growth in bilateral trade. The Ambassador informed the guests about achievement of Pakistan; a Trillion Dollar economy, economic growth of over 5% and business and investment opportunities under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He particularly referred to the plight of Kashmiri’s in Indian held Kashmir and urged upon the world leader to help Kashmiri’s Right of Self-Determination as promised by numerous UN resolutions.
The Chief Guest, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Martin Tlapa, in his speech congratulated Pakistan on 78th National Day Anniversary. He particularly referred to the growing economic cooperation between the two countries and expressed satisfaction. He also informed that a high profile visit of Minister of Trade and Industry of Czech Republic along with a business delegation was planned for Pakistan in coming months during this year.
The reception was attended by large number of foreign diplomats, Czech dignitaries, businessmen, Czech intelligentsia and Pakistani Diaspora in the Czech Republic. Classical Pakistani cuisine was served to the guests.
