Pakistan Navy Ship ASLAT, under Commanding Officer Captain Ijaz Ahmad NI(M), paid a goodwill cum training visit to Dar es Salaam Port on 10-13 March 2016. In an un-usual gesture of warmth around 100 officers/sailors of Tanzanian Navy received the Commander and officers of PNS ASLAT, followed by a colourful cultural show on the occasion. Pakistan navy delegation paid courtesy calls on Rear Admiral RS Laswai, Tanzanian Navy Commander, Deputy Naval Commander Commodore Majumba, Gen. Kapinga, Director Operations at TPDF Headquarters. Discussions focused on further strengthening the existing relations between the armed forces of the two countries. Capt. Ijaz also held meeting with Mayor of Dar es Salaam city Mr. Boniface Jacob and handed over medicines as part of Pakistan Navy’s social and charity work. PNS ASLAT officers visited a local school and an Orphanage House and distributed/handed over gifts and food items.
The Commanding officer hosted a graceful reception/dinner on board PNS ASLAT. Major General YH Muhammad, Commandant Tanzanian National Defence College was Chief Guest on the occasion. A large number of high ranking civil and military dignitaries of the host country, members of the diplomatic corps and Pakistani notables attended the reception.
