Pakistan Navy Ship PNS SHAMSHEER, the second ship of SWORD Class F-22 P Frigates will arrive at Port Klang on 4th April 2014 on Goodwill cum Training trip. PNS SHAMSHEER was built at Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai, China. It was commissioned in Pakistan Navy on 19 December 2009. It is equipped with the state of the art modern weapons and sensors and also carries a anti-submarine Z-9EC Helicopter. The ship is capable of surviving a multi-threat environment and of operating independently as a Task Force.

While berthed at Port Klang, PNS SHAMSHEER will participate in various events, including friendly soccer/volleyball matches with RMN, undertaking voluntary community welfare activities, visits to places of interests and official commitments. The ship will be also opened for the visitors including the Pakistani and local community on 5th April 2014. A PASSEX is also planned during the return journey with RMN Ships.

HE Mr Syed Hassan Raza, the High Commissioner for Pakistan to Malaysia has welcomed the visit and hoped that this would further strengthen the bilateral military relations between the two brotherly countries. Pakistan and Malaysia have had a longstanding cooperation in the defence sector. Such unique interactions between the two professional naval forces would also develop understanding in establishing a more secured and conducive maritime environment that is essential for global peace and security.
