Political Consultations with Slovakia

Political Consultations were held between Pakistan and Slovakia in Bratislava on 4th June 2015. The Pakistan delegation was led by Mr. Nadeem Riyaz, Additional Secretary (Europe). The Slovak side was headed by Mr. Marian Tomášik, Director of Asia and Pacific Department and Mr. Lubomir Rehák, Director General of the Political Directorate.

During the consultations, discussions were held on enhancing political, economic, educational and cultural relations. Special emphasis was placed on the promotion of bilateral trade and enhancement of institutional linkages. The two sides also agreed to increase parliamentary exchanges and developing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Discussions also focused on regional and global issues.

Both sides stressed the need for continuing regular political exchanges. It was also agreed that the next round of consultations would be held in Islamabad at the earliest.
