President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Ambassador attended the Eid-ul-Fitr dinner for Muslim Ambassadors and the political leadership of the Muslim Mindanao organized in Davao city

On the invitation of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Ambassador attended the Eid-ul-Fitr dinner for Muslim Ambassadors and the political leadership of the Muslim Mindanao organized in Davao city on 6th June 2019. Availing the opportunity during the photo session with the President, Ambassador conveyed goodwill messages of the President and the Prime Minister to President Duterte who reciprocated with fondness by extending best wishes for the president, the Prime Minister and tJrc people of Pakistan.

The dinner provided a unique opportunity to interact with the Muslim leadership of the newly Constituted Bangsamoro Transition Authority to prepare for transfer of authority of governance to the local political leadership as envisaged in the Bangsamoro Organic Law. BOL stipulates creation of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region replacing the autonomous Region the Muslim Mindanao, seen as a step forwards towards Federalism. The occasion also provided a chance to have detailed exchange of views on bilateral relations with Foreign Minister Teodoro Locsin, Defence Minister Delfin Lorenzana and Minister of Trade and Industry Ramon M. Lopez, among others.
