The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Salman Bashir, inaugurated today a day-care nursery in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The day-care nursery will cater to the needs of professional Foreign Office women with young children. It underscores the importance attached to the empowerment of women and facilitating women professionals in the performance of their work.
The Foreign Secretary, while inaugurating the day-care nursery, thanked PFOWA members for their dedicated work and assured them of the Ministry’s full support in their endeavors.
A website of the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFOWA), which catalogues the efforts of the Association in undertaking charitable work for the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also been established. It provides details of the work done by PFOWA. PFOWA is an important platform for social outreach on behalf of the Foreign Service of Pakistan.
PFOWA has been raising money for charitable purposes over the past many decades and also organized exhibitions and shows for cultural outreach. PFOWA partners with Pakistan Missions abroad, the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad, and other organizations in Pakistan to promote these goals.
