A special programme for celebrating Easter with Pakistani Christian Community residing in Portugal was organized on April 02, 2018 at the Chancery.

Mr. Joao Luis Correira da Graca, the Chapelain/Priest of the Armed Forces of Portugal was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme started with cutting Easter cake followed by formal Christian rituals. Mr. Joao Luis shed light on the different aspects of the life of Christ and prayed for the world peace.

The Charge d’ Affaires Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Khan informed the participants about the legal and constitutional provisions for the welfare of Christian in Pakistan and shared the views of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on the religious liberties of minorities in Pakistan.

Apart from a good number of Pakistan’s Christian community, members of the civil society and Human Rights Organization also participated in the event.

The participants appreciated Pakistan’s cultural and religious diversity.
