An exhibition on Pakistani books and handicrafts was organized at the Embassy on 18-19 April 2018.
Speaking at the inauguration, the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Nadeem Riyaz spoke about Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and traditions of the country. He said that Pakistan is moderate and progressive. The country offers a huge market and business opportunities.
He said that the people of Pakistan are hardworking, enterprising and extremely hospitable. He stressed that people to people contacts were essential to understand different cultures and stated that the 130,000 strong Pakistanis residing in Italy provided a bridge to further cement ties.
The exhibition showcased books on Pakistan, including cities, mountains, archaeology, fashion, cuisine, calligraphy, literature, music and peacekeeping. The exhibition also displayed textile, pottery, handicrafts, jewellery and carpets from Pakistan.
The event was widely attended by members of the diplomatic corps, senior government functionaries, journalists, students, members of the Pakistani community and the elite of the city.
The second day of the exhibition was reserved for students and the general public. Visitors also enjoyed a 25 minute specially prepared documentary on Pakistan.
