In Pursuance of government of Pakistan’s directives to repatriate Pakistanis stranded abroad, another special flight of PIA carrying 257 passengers left Baghdad for Islamabad at 2:56 AM, today. Most of these Pakistanis are employees of multinational oil & gas companies, international organisations and NGOs.
In view of the lockdown due to covid-19, the Embassy also made arrangements for safe and timely arrival of these Pakistanis at Baghdad International Airport from various cities of Iraq.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Iraq, His Excellency Mr. Sajid Bilal and the Embassy staff were present at the airport to ensure smooth flight operations and to see off the passengers.
The passengers expressed their gratitute to the government of Pakistan for the special flight for their repatriation. The also conveyed their appreciation for immaculate arrangements made for their safe return.
At this occasion, the Ambassador also conveyed his gratitude to the government of Iraq for their valuable support in facilitating the repatriation of stranded Pakistanis.
