The Embassy announces with contentment that today 51 stranded Pakistanis in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania were repatriated to Pakistan by Salam Air Special Flight.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Islamic Republic of Mauritania and Algeria conveyed his thanks to Mauritanian Embassy at Algiers and Mauritanian Foreign Office for swiftly arranging flight clearance. Ambassador specifically praised Mr. Mohamed Mouknass, a Mauritian national and Pakistan’s national Mr. Mirza Muhammad Hassan in Mauritania for their central role and dedicated efforts towards Embassy’s outreach to stranded Pakistanis in Mauritania for their wellbeing, comfort and evacuation. Ambassador also thanked TablighMarkaz, N’djamena’s cooperation for generously hosting visiting Pakistani members for many weeks.

While conveying his heartfelt gratitude to government of Islamic Republic of Mauritania and its highly forthcoming officials, the Ambassador wished the leadership, government and people of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania health and wellbeing during these testing times. He also assured Islamic Republic of Mauritania for all possible assistance that Pakistan could extend.

Ambassador conveyed special thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its continued support and guidance and Salam Air Management for operating a difficult flight to multiple sectors in one go.

Ambassador congratulated Ambassador Dr. Ali Ahmed Arian, who played a pivotal role in arranging this flight. He also lauded the Embassy team who worked selflessly for this noble cause.

Praising patience, forbearance and cooperation of stranded Pakistanis in Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Ambassador reiterated Embassy’s resolve to work dedicatedly for earliest possible evacuation of stranded Pakistanis from People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
