The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Tajikistan, Mr. Imran Haider, along with his Embassy team handed over 68 tons of cement, as a goodwill gesture, to  67 affected families of village Nematullo Assadullo (Chorbog) of Jamoat Ayni in Khuroson District, whose houses were damaged by floods and heavy mud flows in May 2020. This cement was a gift from the officials of the Embassy of Pakistan, Dushanbe.

The handing over ceremony started with the opening remarks made by Colonel Salimzoda, Deputy Chairman of Committee of the Emergency Situation and Civil Defence of the Republic of Tajikistan followed by speech of Ambassador Haider and Deputy Chairman of Khatlon Region, Mr. Mirzozoda Nizom.

In his remarks, Ambassador Haider spoke of the existing excellent, brotherly ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan and our two peoples. He said that both the nations have stood by each other in solidarity both in happy and difficult times. While lauding the Tajik Government’s prompt response to the needs of the affected families, he prayed for their speedy rehabilitation, wellbeing and prosperity.

Colonel Salimzoda and Mr. Mirzozoda Nizom, in their speeches highlighted the existing excellent bilateral ties between the two brotherly countries and expressed their gratitude for the timely donation. At the end of the ceremony, Chairman of the Khuroson District, Mr. Safarzoda Rahmatullo thanked the Ambassador and his team for Embassy’s generous gesture.
