Ambassador of Pakistan to Czech Republic Mr. Muhammad Khalid Jamali met with the President of the Czech Parliament, His Excellency, Mr. Radek Vondráček on 22 July 2020 in his Chambers.

During the meeting the whole range of bilateral relations were discussed. The Speaker of the Czech Parliament expressed satisfaction on friendly and cooperative relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Ambassador apprised Czech President of the Parliament on the current situation of IOJ&K in the wake of August 5th, illegal and unilateral measures by India aiming to alter the demography of IOJ&K.

Mr. Radek Vondráček called upon India and Pakistan to engage in dialogue to seek a peaceful and political solution of the dispute of Kashmir, as per the wishes of the Kashmiri people, which remain the only way to solve long-standing dispute that has caused instability and insecurity in the region.

Ambassador apprised Vondráček regarding the sincere efforts undertaken by Pakistan for bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan. The signing of US-Taliban peace agreement has provided a historic opportunity that must be seized by the Afghan leadership. Ambassador warned that ‘spoilers’ would not wish to see return of peace and stability in Afghanistan and the region.

Radek lauded Pakistan’s efforts and emphasized its crucial role for bringing peace and stability in Afghanistan. He hoped that peace and stability would return to Afghanistan.

He proposed that the Czech Republic and Pakistan could cooperate in areas of Nanotechnology, Clean Energy and Green Energy etc. He emphasized that high-level visits at the political level and by the two Parliaments could play a pivotal role for promoting trade and investments between the two countries.

The President of the Czech Parliament stated that he would be extending an invitation to the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan to visit the Czech Republic and the dates of the visit will be mutually worked out through diplomatic channels.
