Independence Day of Pakistan was marked by hoisting national flag by Charge d’ AffairesMr. Azeem Ullah Cheemawhilethe national anthem was being played. The Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were also read.

Historical significance of the day was highlighted while paying profound tribute to the founding fathers of Pakistan whose sacrifices led to the creation of separate homeland.

Highlighting security & economic challenges faced by the country, the Cd’A expressed full confidence in addressing those challenges under the steward leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s diplomatic, political and moral support to the just cause of people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir(IIJO&K), Mr. Cheemastated that IIJOKis a disputed territory and India has no right in making any demographic changes in its status by any such constitutional engineering. Pakistan wants a peaceful neighbourhood that would pave the way to progress in the subcontinent, he added.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
