Today, Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a webinar to recognize outstanding contributions made by the Pakistani diasporas to combat Covid-19 pandemic. The webinar was presided over by Honorable Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Mr. Muhammad Nawaz, former Honorary Investment Counsellor, Colombia and Charge d’ Affaires Mr. Azeem Ullah Cheema also attended the webinar.

In the Foreign Minister’s speech, he appreciated the role of Pakistani diaspora in fighting the pandemic and helping out fellow Pakistanis during distress by providing relief assistance, facilitation and donations in Prime Minister’s Covid-19 Relief Fund, in addition to their contributions for stabilizing the economy by sending remittances. Mr. Qureshi added that all the prominent Pakistanis who have generously contributed and facilitated the Pakistani community during the pandemic, their profiles and photographs will be shared on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad. They are the “true ambassadors” of Pakistan.

On the recommendation of the Mission, Mr. Muhammad Nawaz former Honorary Investment Counsellor of Pakistan to Colombia’s generous donation to Prime Minister Covid-19 Fund was also deeply appreciated by the Honorable Foreign Minister.

At the end, the Honorable Foreign Minister requested Pakistan Missions abroad and diasporas to continue their efforts for the national cause. Every year, on the occasion of Independence Day (14 August) such webinar will be again organized as it is just a beginning of the journey not an end.
