Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Khokher presented his credentials to Mr. Thomas Stelzer, Dean of International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) based in Laxenburg, Austria as Pakistan’s Permanent Representative. Ambassador Khokher and Mr. Stelzer had a detailed exchange of views on enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation between Pakistan and IACA.
Ambassador Khoker highlighted that the fight against corruption is the top priority of Prime Minister Imran Khan who had championed that cause at the UN General Assembly platform. He acknowledged potential role of IACA in building global narrative in the fight against corruption particularly on the issue of assets recovery. He also solicited IACA’s support for capacity building and training of anti-corruption professionals of Pakistan. Mr. Stelzer appreciated Pakistan’s contribution of $10,000 in 2018 for the Academy’s library. He also expressed his readiness to further strengthen IACA’s cooperation with Pakistan through capacity building, training and research. The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is an international organization which provides Anti-Corruption education and training to professional and practitioners to fight against corruption. The Academy has a constituency of 80 Parties including 76 UN Member States and four inter-governmental organisations.
