H.E. Muhammad Saleem, High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the United Republic of Tanzania presented his Credentials for Concurrent Accreditation as Pakistan’s Representative to the East African Community (EAC) to H.E. Ambassador LiberatMfumukeko, Secretary General, EAC, at the EAC headquarters in Arusha on February 09, 2021.
After the Credentials ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Mfumukekoand H.E. Mr. Saleem held a tête-à-tête.
Congratulating and welcoming High Commissioner Saleem, Ambassador Mfumukekohighlighted the Secretariat’s achievement in trade, infrastructure development, healthcare and education. The Secretary General acknowledged that Pakistan was a big market for the EAC member states to enhance economic collaboration in trade and investment in goods and services as well as in science, technology and innovation fields.
High Commissioner Saleem conveyed well wishes of the Leadership, the Government and the People of Pakistan and expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in enhancing Pakistan-EAC relations in all fields under the Government of Pakistan’s ‘Engage Africa Policy’.
Mr. Saleem also handed over an invitation letter from the Foreign Minister of Pakistan to the Secretary General, EAC, to visit Pakistan.Accepting the invitation, the Secretary General assured that he would lead an EAC business delegation’s visit to Pakistan in the coming months.
