The Embassy of Pakistan in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, observed the 2nd Anniversary of Youm-e-Istehsal in the Chancery to mark the completion of two years of Indian imposition of inhuman and unjust military siege and communication blockade in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The ceremony started with recitation of Holy Quran followed by national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
Special messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out during the event.
Ambassador Imran Haider in his remarks, while highlighting the history of Jammu and Kashmir dispute briefed the audience about the ongoing atrocities being perpetrated by the Indian occupying forces in IIOJK.
He said that the India’s unilateral and illegal actions of 5th August 2019 whereby it revoked the special status of IIOJK are aimed at changing the demographic structure in IIOJK and adding that these acts are blatant violations of numerous UN Security Council Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir dispute and international law.
While praising countless sacrifices rendered by brave Kashmiri people in IIOJK, the Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan government’s and people’s unflinching resolve to continue to extend moral, diplomatic and political support to the besieged Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their just struggle for achieving their right to self-determination.

He added that the international community including the UN, human rights organizations and independent media have also now started taking notice of the Indian brutalities and massive human rights violations in the occupied territory.
At the event, poetic versus eulogizing the brave struggle of Kashmiri people in IIOJK were recited by a Pakistani community member.
Special documentaries highlighting Indian atrocities in IIOJK were screened during the event, banners and posters highlighting these atrocities and Kashmiri people’s struggle were also displayed in the Chancery building.
