On the auspicious occasion of 75th Independence Day of Pakistan, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at Embassy of Pakistan, Prague, Czech Republic. Mr. Kamran Ahmed Malik, Charge d’ Affaires a.i. hoisted the flag and read the messages by the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by large number of Pakistani community residing in the Czech Republic, eminent Czech Business personalities and Pakistani students studying in the country.

The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, in his message congratulated the fellow countrymen and paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, and leaders and workers of the Pakistan Movement who created a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Sub-Continent.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan, in his message highlighted immense sacrifices rendered by Pakistan due to instability on its Western border and reiterated that Pakistan would continue to support a negotiated political settlement for durable peace and stability in Afghanistan.

While we celebrate this Independence Day, our hearts are profoundly grieved by the sufferings of people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K), who are facing military siege for the past two years. We stand firmly behind our Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for their right to self-determination.

Mr. Kamran Ahmed Malik, Charge d’ Affaires a.i. expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani community for their participation and congratulated them on the 75th Independence Day of Pakistan.
