The Youm-e-Istehsal 2022 was observed in the Chancery premises of the High Commission for Pakistan to the United Republic of Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on 05 August 2022.

A large number of the Pakistani and Kashmiri community including their Tanzanian friends, students, representatives of Model United Nations Youth of Tanzania, the Civil Society representatives, Human Rights activists and local media reporters were present for widest possible coverage of the event.

Special messages of the President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on the occasion were read out by the Charge d’ Affaires (a.i.) Muhammad Azam Bihan.

Mr. Ghazi Naeemullah Dar, Chairman Kashmir Committee in Tanzania; Mr. Asim Mehmood Butt, President, Welfare Association of Pakistan (WAP) in the United Republic of Tanzania; Mr. Imtiaz Afridi, Vice President, WAP in the United Republic of Tanzania; and Mr. Philemon Mweleka from Model United Nations Tanzania also expressed their thoughts on the plight of innocent Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

A documentary highlighting the ongoing brutalities at the hands of Indian forces unleashed in IIOJK, especially since August 05, 2019, were shown to the participants. Charge d’ Affaires (a.i.) Muhammad Azam Bihan also gave a background briefing on the disputed status of IIOJK between Pakistan and India as recognized by the United Nations and the international community as well as on the unabated Indian aggression to the Tanzanian participants. The Charge d’ Affaires (a.i.) urged the UN and all the peace-loving nations of the world to urge India to stop brutalities in the IIOJK and reverse the unilateral and illegal action of August 05, 2019 for the peaceful resolution of the dispute according to the wishes of the People of Jammu and Kashmir through a plebiscite under the United Nations.
