Independence Day 2022

The auspicious Independence Day 2022 flag-hoisting ceremony was organized in the High Commission for Pakistan in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania, today morning. Over 150 Pakistan Community members along with families and their Tanzanian friends including representatives from Tanzanian media attended the function.

The joyful Pakistan Day festivity started with playing of the National Anthem and the National flag-hoisting by the Charge d’ Affaires (a.i.) Muhammad Azam Bihan. It was followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran. Special messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion were read out by the Charge d’ Affaires.

A photo-exhibition slide show covering major events of the Independence movement in 1947 was also displayed during the ceremony.

In his remarks, Mr. Bihan paid tribute to the founding fathers of Pakistan whose services and sacrifices led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the South Asian Sub-continent.

Pakistan children performed over Pakistani National Songs and gave small speeches on the occasion. A cake cutting ceremony was also held with the children on the occasion.

The Charge d’ Affaires thanked the Pakistani Diaspora in Tanzania for their invaluable contribution to strengthening economic, cultural and people to people relations between the two friendly countries.
