In connection with “Kashmir Black Day”, the Embassy of Pakistan, Kuwait organised a seminar to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for freedom and right to self determination. The seminar was attended by a large gathering of Pakistani community members including Pakistani medical professionals and notables from Kashmiri diaspora.
The participating community members voiced their concerns on the plight of Kashmiri brethren; emphasising that the occupied Jammu & Kashmir has been subjected to unprecedented restrictions on freedom of speech, fake encounters, enforced disappearances, incarceration of senior Kashmiri leadership and other methods of subjugation.
It was also highlighted that for the last seven decades, the Kashmiris have been subjected to grave human rights violations. All the participants urged that the international community must ensure collective efforts to urge the Indian government to adhere to the United Nations Security Council Resolutions and resolve the dispute in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiri people.
In his concluding remarks, the Deputy Head of Mission reiterated that Pakistan values the sacrifices of thousands of Kashmiris in the pursuit of freedom and right to self determination. He affirmed that Pakistan will continue to raise voice for the Kashmiri cause at all international fora. It was also pointed that Pakistan calls upon the international community to take practical steps to hold India accountable for its egregious human rights violations in occupied Kashmir and play its part in facilitating a peaceful and just resolution of the long-standing dispute of Jammu & Kashmir in accordance with the relevant Security Council Resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
