The ‘Kashmir Black Day’ was observed in the High Commission’s premises today. A sizeable number of Pakistani Diaspora members including their Tanzanian friends attended the event.

High Commissioner Siraj Ahmad Khan read out the Special Messages of the President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion. He also gave an overview on the background of ‘Kashmir Black Day’ highlighting the prevailing situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

In his remarks, the High Commissioner said that despite India’s 76 years long brutal subjugation, the People of IIOJK had not surrendered to forced occupation and were striving for their unalienable right to self-determination. He highlighted that it is incumbent upon us to share India’s gruesome human rights violations with the international community. He added that due to 50-month long media blackout in IIOJK, the Government and the People of Pakistan including Pakistani Diaspora living in different countries abroad have become the voice of innocent Kashmiris to the outside world.

Mr. Ghazi Naeemullah Dar, Pakistani Diaspora member of Kashmir Origin expressed his views and called for early resolution of the Kashmir dispute to fulfil the aspirations of the People of the IIOJK.
