11 July 2021:Embassy of Pakistan and Ministry of Education of the Syrian Arab Republic signed a protocol on verification of the certificates issued by University of Cambridge for the students of Pakistan International School of Damascus and ratification of them at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
The Protocol was signed by Dr. Darem Tabba, Minister of Education of Syria and Mr. Saeed Muhammad Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Syria in the presence of Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic.
In his remarks to journalists, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad clarified that signing the protocol is a step in the correct direction, adding “we are also working to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries through other steps in the scientific and cultural fields, along with the mutual visits among the officials of Education and Higher Education Ministries through the upcoming period”.
Syrian Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabba highlighted that institution which remained functional during the war should receive our support by finding the means required for attesting the certificates of the graduates of this successful educational institution, whether they are members of the Pakistani community living in Syria, or our Syrian children who study in PISOD. He further pointed out that the protocol will scale down the numerous difficulties faced by the students and will also strengthen ties with the government of Pakistan.
The Ambassador while replying to the two Ministers highlighted the significance of signing the protocol and its positive impact on students in terms of the formalities required for attestation of their certificates, and consequently for facilitating their university admission in Syria.
Pakistan International School of Damascus (PISOD), which runs under the patronage of Embassy of Pakistan, Damascus since 1984, is a prestigious and only institution which is affiliated to Cambridge University and imparting quality western education to the Syrian kids.
