A delegation of Canada Pakistan Global Congress (CPGC) called on Pakistan High Commissioner-designate to Canada Mr. Ameer Khurram Rathore to discuss issues pertaining to enhancement of bilateral trade as well as issues related to study permits and enrollment of Pakistani students in Canadian educational institutions through the Students Direct Stream (SDS).
During the meeting, the High Commissioner urged the CPGC delegation comprising Mr. Nadeem Younis and Mr. Zafar Chaudhry, both directors in the CPGC, to pool in their efforts for creating awareness amongst the Pakistani youth through advocacy and consultancy as the SDS scheme was beneficial for both Canada and Pakistan. Issues regarding visa for religious pilgrimage also came under discussion. High Commissioner assured his support and cooperation to assist Sikh pilgrims wanting to visit their religious shrines in Pakistan.
