Re-election of Mr. Khalid Mehboob of Pakistan as independent Chairperson of the FAO Council
Mr. Khalid Mehboob of Pakistan was re-elected unopposed as Independent Chairperson of the FAO Council at the 41st Session of the FAO Conference for the term 2019-2021 on 27th June.
Mr. Mehboob has served as the Independent Chairperson since 2017 when he was first elected by defeating five European candidates.
As Independent Chairperson of the FAO Council, for the last two years Mr. Mehboob has been credited for his broad vision, strong leadership and in improving the overall governance process of FAO. His achievements include, notable improvements to the processes of the FAO Council and increasing cooperation and trust among Member Countries.
