“People of Pakistan and Brazil have immense potential to increase bilateral trade, investment and cultural relations”, Brazilian Undersecretary General Ambassador Santiago Mourao observed during a detailed meeting held with Ambassador Najm us Saqib of Pakistan, at the Brazilian Foreign Office (Itamaraty), on 30 June, 2017.
Fully agreeing, Ambassador Najm us Saqib urged businessmen of both countries to contact their respective Embassies for obtaining updated information on various business prospects. In this regard, both Ambassadors stressed the need to have frequent exchange of delegations, both at Government and private levels, for better people-to-people contacts.
Cooperation in various fields was discussed as both sides agreed to finalize the agreements on Technical Cooperation and Joint Commission soon. “The finalization of these two agreements will provide the much needed formal platform for both countries to strengthen relations in different fields especially in economic and trade domains”, Ambassador Najm us Saqib observed.
Proposals on exchange of cultural troupes; visit of a Brazilian provincial soccer team to Pakistan; exchange of academicians and offer of scholarships to students of both countries also came under discussion. Both Ambassadors agreed to work closely on increasing bilateral cooperation in the realization of all these proposals.
