Repatriation of Detainees since Onset of Covid-19 Pandemic

High Commission of Pakistan, Kuala Lumpur in its continuous efforts to repatriate detainees incarcerated in Detention Centres across Malaysia, today facilitated deportation of 34 Pakistani nationals back to Pakistan by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight No. PK895.

It may be recalled that the High Commission has till date assisted return of 587 detainees since the onset of Movement Control Order (MCO) announced by the Government of Malaysia on 18 March 2020 in the wake of Covid-19 Pandemic.

The assistance provided by the Immigration Department of Malaysia is highly appreciated as this important task could not have been accomplished without their invaluable support.

The efforts of Immigration authorities in States of Sabah and Sarawak have been instrumental in significantly bringing down the number of detainees in East Malaysia.

The High Commission of Pakistan will continue its efforts to ensure that detainees are deported safely and promptly to Pakistan.
