Respect the dignity of Women in IOJ&K

An event for the “Respect and dignity of women in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K)” was organized at the Embassy, today.

Women from the community and the Embassy speaking on the occasion highlighted the atrocities being committed on the innocent women of Kashmir by the Indian security forces.

They called upon the international community to ensure that the right of the Kashmiri people and the women must be protected. They stressed that the fundamental rights of the Kashmiris should be restored and they should be given their due rights as per the UNSC resolutions to determine their own future. Speeches were made in English, Urdu and Italian by the female participants.

Speaking on the occasion, the Ambassador stressed the importance of highlighting the plight of the Kashmiris at all fora. He said that Pakistan will continue to provide its political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir.

He further stated that Kashmir is a disputed territory and a solution must be found as per the UNSC resolutions and the will of the Kashmiri people. He paid a rich tribute to the women of Kashmir who had sacrificed their own lives and of their loved ones in their quest for achieving their goal.

The event concluded with prayers for the martyrs and for the safety and security of Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.

The event was attended by officers, local & Pakistan based staff and members of the Pakistani community.
