MAJOR GENERAL SYED QAISER ABBAS SHAH, HI (M), (RETD)
Ambassador Major General Syed Qaiser Abbas Shah HI(M) (Retd) born on 22 May 1966, has an illustrious military career to his credit. He was commissioned in Pakistan Army in 1986 and retired after meritorious services of 35 years. He was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) in recognition of his distinguished and meritorious services.
He is a graduate of Command and Staff College, Quetta, Royal Command and Staff College, Riyadh and National Defence University, Islamabad. He holds a Masters Degree in ‘Art and Science of Warfare’ and M Phil in ‘Public Policy and Strategic Security Management’. He also has Arabic Language Course qualification from National University of Modern Languages, Islamabad.
During his career, he held diversified Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. He commanded an Infantry Battalion on Line of Control, an Artillery Regiment, Divisional Artillery, Strategic Force Division, Logistic Area Karachi and Director General, Artillery. He remained on the faculty of School of Artillery, Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul and Command and Staff College, Quetta. Served as Pakistan’s Defence Attaché to Egypt from 2006 to 2008 and also had the opportunity to represent Pakistan Army at various times in Military Cooperation talks with China, KSA, Sri Lanka and Egypt.
Plays Golf and enjoys travelling and reading. Is happily married and blessed with a daughter and two sons.
