Second consignment of humanitarian aid from Pakistan for the people of Ukraine arrived today at Chopin Airport Warsaw in PAF flight C-130 carrying 7.5 tonnes of cargo. The aid consisted of 112 tents, 50 bundles of Blankets and 384 lbs soaps.
The humanitarian flight was received by Malik Muhammad Farooq, Ambassador of Pakistan to Poland; Mr. Krzysztof Dobrowolski, Acting Director Asia Pacific Department of Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Brigadier Qasim Shazad, Pakistan’s Defence Attaché accredited to Poland; and Colonel Vitalii Sanchenko and Lt. Colonel Andrii Anosov from the office of Ukrainian Defence Attaché.
Mr. Dobrowolski, appreciating gesture of solidarity by the people and government of Pakistan for the people of Ukraine, stressed that it was an example for other countries to show solidarity and extend help to the countries in need.
Colonel Sanchenko, underlining cordial bilateral ties between the two countries, thanked the people and government of Pakistan for the humanitarian assistance.
The Ambassador appreciated the cooperation extended by the government of Poland to facilitate the humanitarian cargo.
The second flight, also carrying 7.5 tonnes of humanitarian cargo, is scheduled on 4th June 2022. Previously, Pakistan had sent 15 tonnes of humanitarian assistance for the people of Ukraine on 15 March 2022.
