Second Round of Annual Bilateral Consultations between Pakistan and Spain

The Second Round of Annual Bilateral Consultations between Pakistan and Spain was held in Islamabad today. Pakistan side was led by Mr. Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Foreign Secretary. The Spanish delegation was headed by Mr. Ignacio Ybanez Rubio, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

The Consultations reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relations including political, economic and cultural cooperation. Special emphasis was placed on enhancing trade relations and promoting Spanish investments in Pakistan. Possibilities of educational cooperation, development of institutional linkages and enhancing people-to-people contacts also came under discussion. The two sides also reviewed the status of various MoUs and agreements between the two countries.

The two delegations exchanged views on regional and global issues of common interest.

The next round of Consultations would be held in Madrid in 2016 on mutually convenient dates.
