The Secretary General of SCO Vladimir Norov called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Bishkek today.
The Secretary General welcomed Pakistan’s membership as an important step that had enhanced the prestige of the Organization. He expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s active participation in various platforms under SCO umbrella. Secretary General Norov shared his vision for promoting cooperation among the SCO members in a wide array of sectors ranging from intra-SCO trade to tourism, innovation and youth empowerment.
The Foreign Minister congratulated the SCO Secretary General on assumption of office. He also expressed appreciation for the Secretariat’s important role in facilitating Pakistan in the process of integration in the Organization. The Foreign Minister assured Pakistan’s complete support to the Secretariat in achieving the goals and objectives set under various SCO initiatives.
