Solidarity with the Afghan nation

We have noted the important statement made by President Karzai yesterday in Kabul regarding the transfer of security and development responsibilities from NATO/ISAF to the Afghan government. We felicitate President Karzai on the initiation of this process and wish him and the Afghan government every success.

As a sincere well-wisher of the Afghan people, we are confident that the proud Afghan nation with great history and traditions is itself eminently qualified to forge a glorious future that accords with its national aspirations.

Pakistan deeply values its relations with Afghanistan and sincerely wishes stability, peace and prosperity for the brotherly people of Afghanistan.

Pakistan will continue to stand by the Afghan nation. We will also continue to work closely with Afghanistan for realizing the immense potential of common and mutually beneficial development.
