The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi and Minister of State for Commerce, Mr. Khurram Dastagir Khan, had a joint meeting with the European Union Ambassadors in Islamabad today. The focus of the meeting was trade and greater market access for Pakistani goods particularly in the context of “GSP Plus” Scheme. They briefed the Ambassadors on the Government’s economic reforms agenda and called for increased investment in Pakistan. They emphasized that market access would generate employment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly for the young people.
The Minister of State for Commerce is likely to visit some important European capitals soon to meet his counterparts and the members of the European Parliament to seek support for Pakistan’s inclusion in the “GSP Plus” Scheme.
