Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs receives Ambassador of Cuba

The newly arrived Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan, Mr. Gabriel Tiel Capote, called on the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs (SAPM), Syed Tariq Fatemi, today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The SAPM welcomed Ambassador Capote to Pakistan and expressed the confidence that his contributions would help strengthen the existing bilateral ties between the two sides. He recalled with appreciation the medical assistance provided by Cuba to Pakistan, in the aftermath of the earthquake in 2005.

The Cuban Ambassador thanked the Special Assistant for the warm welcome accorded to him in Pakistan, and expressed his resolve to explore new avenues of cooperation between the two friendly countries. He also thanked the Government of Pakistan for the gift of rice to the people of Cuba from the people of Pakistan.
