Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi received the Spanish Secretary of State for Ministry of foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr. Ignacio Ybanez Rubio.
The SAPM expressed his condolences over the recent air crash in which around 50 Spanish nationals lost their lives.
He expressed satisfaction over Pakistan’s relations with Spain especially the recent upward trend in the bilateral trade which registered an over 42 percent increase during the last year. He highlighted the investment opportunities in Pakistan and invited Spanish investors to make use of Pakistan’s investor friendly policies.
The SAPM also briefed on the situation in the region and stressed that Pakistan had the vision of a peaceful neighborhood.
The Spanish Secretary of State showed keen interest in further enhancing the bilateral relations in various sectors. He appreciated the steps taken by the Pakistan Government to fight terrorism.
The talks were held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
