Special Envoy of Syria calls on the President of Pakistan

A Special Envoy of the Syrian President, Mr. Faisal Meqdad, called on the President of Pakistan in Karachi today to brief him on the current situation in Syria.
The President, while reaffirming the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, emphasized the need for respecting the democratic aspirations of the Syrian people. The President also expressed concern on the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria and stressed the need for a broad national dialogue and political reconciliation.
The President of Pakistan urged the international community to support peaceful resolution of the Syrian crisis through dialogue.
