A special Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in South Africa on Friday, April 6,2018 to express solidarity with the Kashmiri Brothers and Sisters in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to protest recent Indian atrocities perpetrated against innocent civilians. A special event was organized at the Pakistan High Commission in Pretoria, High Commissioner interacted with local Media and demarches were made on the host Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well.
During the main event at the Chancery attended by cross-section of Pakistani community, Embassy Officers & Officials and Friends of Kashmir, Mrs. Shamshad Begum, Mr. Salman Khan, Dr. Haroon Abbasi, Mr. Fayyaz Khan and others highlighted the important role of the international community in helping to bring a lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute. They expressed the hope that the South African community would be actively engaged on this vital issue. They strongly protested the continuing reign of terror unleashed by Indian security forces on innocent Kashmiri people in IOK. They demanded that world nations must stop India from mass killings of Kashmiri people.
In his address, the High Commissioner stated that India has started Kashmiri genocide which must end immediately. He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to extend diplomatic, moral and political support to Kashmir cause till the time they attain their right to selfdetermination as enshrined in the United Nations Security Council Resolutions. He expressed grave concern over the killings and other human rights violations taking place in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. He called upon international community and human rights organizations to take note of the Indian atrocities.
In the end, Qari Mazhar Abbas of Darul Uloom Pretoria led the prayers for a just solution of the Kashmir dispute and a bright future for the people of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
