An earthquake and a tsunami hit North Eastern Japan today.
The Foreign Ministry is in contact with our Embassy in Tokyo. They have confirmed that all Pakistani officials of the Embassy are safe.
The Pakistani community in the Tokyo area is also reportedly safe. The Embassy is trying to get in touch with Pakistanis closer to the area most affected by the earthquake and the tsunami in the North East of Japan. Telephone contacts with the North East are currently not fully operational.
