Syed Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs received a seven member delegation of German-South Asian Parliamentary Friendship Group led by its chairman Mr. Niels Annen, today.
Welcoming the delegation, SAPM stated that Pakistan greatly values its ties with Germany and the visit of the Prime Minister to Berlin last November has positively contributed towards their enhancement. Pakistan-Germany relations are on an upward trajectory with a 20% increase in trade in 2014. Mr. Annen responded that Germany greatly values its relations with Pakistan and keenly looks forward to their further strengthening.
The SAPM and the visiting delegation discussed regional and global issues. SAPM briefed the delegation on Prime Minister’s vision of a peaceful neighbourhood. He also dilated upon relations with India, Afghanistan and position on Yemen.
Members of the delegation were deeply appreciative of the frank interaction and exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
