“The Agreement between Pakistan and Brazil on Technical Cooperation will form the basis of increased cooperation between the two countries especially in the Agriculture Sector”, Ambassador Joao Almino, Director General of Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) remarked. In a detailed and cordial meeting held at ABC Office with the Ambassador of Pakistan, Mr. Najm us Saqib today, the Director General informed that all formalities relating to the Agreement on Technical Cooperation would soon be complete. During the meeting, it was decided that the process of finalising the Agreement would be expedited from both sides to have the said Agreement signed during 2017.
Both sides also discussed possibility of cooperation particularly in important areas of citrus and grape harvest, bio-fuel production, mechanised cotton planting, soybeans processing and post-harvest technologies. Pakistan and Brazil would like to benefit from each other’s experience in agriculture research, bio-technology, innovations, techniques for increasing per-acre yield and agro cooperatives.
Established in 1987, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), is responsible for coordinating, executing and evaluating the programmes of Brazil’s international technical cooperation, in partnership with foreign governments and international organizations.
