Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a telephonic conversation with the Foreign Minister of Indonesia, H.E. Ms. Retno L.P. Marsudi, today.
Expressing satisfaction at the deep-rooted and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Indonesia, the Foreign Minister underscored Pakistan’s strong desire to further intensify these multi-dimensional ties across the entire spectrum. The Foreign Minister stressed that the strong political goodwill between the two countries should be fully utilized towards deepening mutually beneficial trade and economic ties and expanding cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
Commending Indonesia’s prominent role in advocating and advancing causes of the Islamic Ummah, the Foreign Minister thanked the Indonesian Foreign Minister for her active participation during the 17th Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, in Islamabad, on 19 December 2021.
Affirming the important role of women in society, the Foreign Ministers emphasized the role of women parliamentarians in promoting and cementing democratic values.
Pakistan and Indonesia agreed to work closely on all issues of mutual interest.
