The Embassy of Pakistan, Kyiv organized a special event on 10th September 2021 to celebrate Pakistan Day and Pakistan Defence Day at Hilton Hotel, Kyiv.
The venue was decorated with traditional handicrafts and artifacts of Pakistan. After recitation of the Holy Quran, the national anthems of Pakistan and Ukraine were played respectively. To promote soft image of beloved homeland, documentaries projecting Pakistan’s rich culture and tourism potential were played on the screen. Also, the gathering was entertained with live Pakistani music.
The Ambassador highlighted the importance of Pakistan Day, Independence Day and Defence Day of Pakistan. The audience were briefed about Pakistan’s foreign policy focus on geo economics. Pakistan’s significance as a connecting country and importance of China Pakistan Economic corridor for regional development and prosperity. Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan and Pakistan’s role in facilitating evacuation of personnel of a number of countries and UN Organizations and our efforts to facilitate movement of humanitarian medical aid by UN into Afghanistan were also highlighted. Pakistan’s principled support to Kashmir’s for their right to self determination consistent with UNSC resolutions and the inhuman lockdown imposed on Kashmiris residing in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) was reiterated. It was emphasized that Pakistan desires to resolve the Kashmir issue through dialogue if the steps taken by Government of India in IIOJ&K since 2019 are reversed.
Around 300 people attended the ceremony including members of Ukrainian Parliament, Government Officials, Ambassadors, Representatives of International Organizations, Media Personnel, Academia and Pakistani Diaspora living in Ukraine. They were served with traditional Pakistani cuisine and entertained with live Pakistani music.
