The Executive Director of CICA calls on the Minister of State

Mr. Nawabzada Malik Amad Khan, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, received Ambassador Cinar Aldemir, Executive Director of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), in his office today.

CICA is a regional organization established in 1992 under an initiative of the President of Kazakhstan, with a permanent Secretariat in Almaty. Pakistan was a founding member of CICA, which has since grown to a membership of 24 countries. Pakistan participates actively in all activities of CICA on dialogue and cooperation in diverse areas such as environment, economic and trade issues as well as regional peace and security.

Ambassador Aledemir briefed the Minister of State on the evolution, current activities and future outlook of CICA. The Minister of State appreciated the role of Ambassador Aldemir in strengthening CICA as an important regional organization and assured him of Pakistan’s full support and cooperation in the execution of his duties.
