Trilateral summit meeting on Afghanistan in Ankara

President Asif Ali Zardari will be visiting Ankara, Turkey to participate in the Third Trilateral Summit (Afghanistan-Pakistan-Turkey) on Afghanistan 1 April 2009, being hosted by the Turkish President. Apart from the Trilateral Summit meeting, President Asif Ali Zardari would hold bilateral talks with President Abdullah Gul and President Hamid Karzai.

The Summit will provide an opportunity to the leaders of the three countries to discuss ways and means towards promoting peace, stability and security in Afghanistan.

This is the third Trilateral Summit. The first and second summit meetings were held in Ankara and Istanbul in April 2007 and December 2008, respectively.
