MR. TAHIR HUSSAIN ANDRABI
Tahir Hussain Andrabi assumed the office of Pakistan’s Ambassador to the Republic of Tunisia, concurrently accredited to the Republic of Malta in August 2021.
Prior to this, he was Ambassador/Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva (2017-2021).
Ambassador Andrabi previous postings are: Embassy of Pakistan, Beijing, China as Counsellor (2013-15) and Second Secretary (2001-05); and Permanent Mission of Pakistan to the United Nations, New York as Counsellor (2009-13).
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has served as Desk Officer/Deputy Director dealing with Africa, India and Kashmir Affairs in varying times from 1999-2006. He was Deputy Director Foreign Secretary’s Office (2006-7), Director Foreign Secretary’s Office (2008-9), Director India (2015) and Director Foreign Minister’s Office (2015-17).
Ambassador Andrabi holds a degree from King Edward Medical University, Lahore, Pakistan; a Fellowship from Institute for the Study of Diplomacy, Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA; and a Graduate Certification in Chinese Language from Beijing Language and Culture University, China.
He is married, with a son and a daughter.
